Terms of use

Last updated October 2026

Have you seen? is built to help people and pets reunite, and these terms keep it a safe and kind place to do that. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Have you seen? is a free community tool for reporting and finding lost, found and stray pets so they can get back to the people who love them. We do not verify posts or people, and we cannot guarantee that a pet will be found or that a match is correct.

Your posts

  • Post only information you believe is true, about a real pet you lost, found or saw.
  • You must have the right to share any photo you upload. You allow us to display it as part of your post.
  • Do not post personal details of other people, or anything unlawful, abusive, misleading or spam.
  • We may remove posts, block senders or limit access to keep the service safe.
  • Each account can have a limited number of open posts, and posts expire after 30 days unless renewed.

Messaging and meeting

  • Messages are relayed so addresses stay private. Do not use them to harass or solicit anyone, or to send unrelated advertising.
  • Keep your private conversation link to yourself. Anyone who has it can read that conversation.
  • Be careful when meeting strangers. Meet in public places, and never send money to claim or return a pet. We are not responsible for what happens between users.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape the service, bypass its limits, upload malware, or try to find out other users' private information, including exact locations.

No warranty and liability

The service is provided as is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the service, from user content, or from dealings between users.

Changes

We may update these terms or the service. Continuing to use it after a change means you accept the new terms. See our privacy policy for how data is handled.
